Our Commitment

Choice Properties is committed to fair housing and equal opportunity for all people. We do not and will not tolerate discrimination in any form on our platform.

Federal Law

The federal Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. §§ 3601–3619) prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, or financing of housing based on:

  • Race
  • Color
  • National origin
  • Religion
  • Sex
  • Familial status (including families with children under 18 and pregnant women)
  • Disability

State and Local Law

Current federal guidance and HUD regulations extend FHA protections to sexual orientation and gender identity through the prohibition on sex discrimination. Additionally, many states and localities provide further explicit protections, including those based on source of income, marital status, age, and other characteristics. Choice Properties management follows applicable federal, state, and local fair housing laws when reviewing applications and managing listings.

What Choice Properties Does Not Allow

Choice Properties does not and will not:

  • Accept listings that contain discriminatory language or preferences
  • Allow filtering or sorting of applications based on protected characteristics
  • Facilitate any practice that constitutes illegal discrimination

Management Commitment

Choice Properties management is committed to:

  • Not discriminate against any applicant based on any protected class
  • Apply consistent screening criteria to all applicants for the same property

Reports of possible discrimination are reviewed by Choice Properties management and may be referred to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or applicable state agencies.
